For Immediate Release: CENTER SOURCE INC. RECEIVES VETERAN INSTITUTE FOR PROCUREMENT CERTIFICATION

Lanham, Maryland Monday, May 2, 2022 – Center Source Inc. (CenterSource) recently completed the Veteran Institute Procurement (VIP) START Program. VIP is a comprehensive training and certification course that helps veteran-owned businesses strengthen their ability to win government contracts and do business in the federal government procurement system.

On April 7, 2022, CenterSource was one of sixty-five businesses from sixteen states to graduate from VIP START. This class marked 2,000 VIP graduate companies. To celebrate this milestone, VIP hosted a special reception including graduates, alumni, sponsors, and partners from industry and government.

“The training I received was phenomenal. I spent years awarding and analyzing government contracts, so I’m well-versed with the procurement process. I was very pleased to deepen my understanding of the essentials small business owners need to know in 2022,” said Marvin Center (CEO and President of CenterSource).

VIP START participants received hands-on market-based instruction covering best business practices for federal government contracting. The course was taught by highly experienced industry and government professionals. The focus was on the essentials necessary to win government contracts: law, accounting, insurance, human resources, marketing, and the proposal process.

The curriculum is designed to help businesses become procurement ready quickly. VIP participants gain access to federal and prime contracting executives and a national network of veteran-owned small businesses.

"We are honored to give back to the men and women who served our country by providing them with the tools they need to succeed as government contractors," said Barbara Ashe, President of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation.

Last week, I had the honor of becoming a graduate of Project Opportunity’s, Anne Arundel Fall 2021 class! Representing Center Source, Inc. and winning the Business Pitch Competition was such a great honor. But the best part of the learning journey was meeting super-talented, creative, and ambitious entrepreneurs who are just as passionate about their own businesses. Congratulations to my fellow graduates!
